In rope bondage transition usually means changing position or shape of the one tied. Often the word ‘transition’ describes changing the position in suspension, though you can make transitions on the floor too. There can be only one or several transitions during one rope session. Transitions are a new element in suspension play; what happens in the body and in the rope when the position changes? Welcome to this workshop to figure it out!

Transitions are a technical element in rope play and you can tie them in several ways or with different energies; Amy’s style is soft and guiding, usually so that the person tied can easily figure out what’s happening next. In this workshop we’ll practice transitions in this style.

The workshop is aimed for those who have no experience in transitions. If you have a lot of experience you’re still welcome but it’s not mandatory. We’ll go through safety and risk assessments of transitions, technicalities and tips for those who are tied.

In the workshop we’ll have one exercise on the floor in semisuspension and one exercise in the air on full suspension. It’s possible to tie both exercises in semisuspension.

Requirements from the on tying

● You have tied actively at least 6 months

● You can tie an upper body harness (that works well for your bottom and) that can be lifted from the front and back

● This is not your first suspension workshop

● You can tie and manage suspension lines well

● You have built a foundation of trust in your relationship with the bottom before this workshop

Requirements from the one being tied

● This is not your first time being in a suspension nor it’s your first time in a rope workshop

● You know the difference between nerve impingement and restriction of blood flow, know how it feels in your body and can communicate about it

● You have a good understanding of your own body and you know the risks of rope suspension

● You have built a foundation of trust in your relationship with the top before this workshop
