How the slots work

Teaching time is divided into slots, and one slot costs 2 regular Helsinki Shibari tickets.

  • Tying as a pair: you share a slot, so each of you buys 1 ticket.

  • Self-tying solo: the slot is yours alone, so you buy both tickets.

Bring your own rope problem — let's find a solution together!

Have you been curious about private tuition but never had the resources to try it? Would you like practice time with your rope partner, with someone on hand to help you improve and to spot you?

This multi-level workshop is part lab space, part shared private tuition. Come to work on something you've already learned, or arrive with a wish to learn something new. Isla facilitates the space alone, so if you want something demoed, Isla will tie your tying partner.

Who this workshop is for:

All levels are welcome, and the lab works for both partnered tying and solo self-tying.

Things Isla could help you with:

  • Practising specific ties – TK, back or front strappado, hands-front harness, tengu, tenshi, futomomo, basket tie…

  • Tailoring harnesses to your partner. Isla loves problem-solving for different bodies, needs and limitations, and has experience with a wide range of them.

  • Safe suspension uplines, different lockings, semi-suspensions

  • Specific suspension positions – face down, face up, side, vertical, torsion

  • Improvisation skills with rope, such as building predicaments and semenawa

  • Body manipulation on the floor or in partial suspensions

Bring the problem you're stuck on. Hopefully I can help you past it – and if not, we'll sit with the difficulty together and learn something about how complex bodies really are. That's part of the beauty of rope bondage too.
